London South Bank University is currently looking for an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician to help provide dedicated, high quality, technical support in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratories for the Institute of Health and Social Care. The institute comprises of two Schools, the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Allied Health and Social Care.
This is a wide and varied role that involves assisting with the upkeep and preparation of several specialist simulation teaching facilities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, setting up and taking down classes, equipment maintenance and repair, waste management, procurement, demonstration of equipment, running simulation scenarios on manikins and much more.
The clinical skills and simulation labs are maintained by a dedicated team of technicians who support students and staff in use of specialist equipment and related processes. As an integral member of this team, you will facilitate practical sessions, research, enterprise, outreach, and innovation and work closely with colleagues to ensure that the environments and technical equipment run smoothly.
This is a specialised field with expertise frequently gained through in-role training.
